Sphera & ICO promote online training of healthcare specialists

Sphera Global Health Care and the ICO sign a partnership agreement to promote online training of healthcare specialists.

On 10 November 2016, Sphera Global Health Care and the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO), a public centre devoted exclusively to cancer research, signed a joint partnership agreement to promote online courses for healthcare professionals in Africa, thus making it easy for students to access the training programme in the ICO’s e-Oncology portal.

e-Oncology is the ICO portal specialising in ongoing training for every area of oncology, and is the first online teaching project devoted solely to provide training in this area of healthcare. Its main goal is to create virtual spaces where specialists in training, practising doctors and non-specialist professionals can learn about cancer.

In April of last year, as part of the first joint initiative in Rwanda, fifty gynaecology students successfully completed an e-Oncology Cervical Cancer Prevention Course taught at the University of Rwanda’s School of Medicine.

This partnership agreement will yield important advances in the daily fight against cancer by allowing doctors to expand their knowledge and improve the quality of life of their patients, thus reducing cancer-related deaths.

Through this agreement, Sphera is helping to develop healthcare throughout the world by ensuring that everyone has access to local medical services that are up to international quality standards.
